Mandy Anderson started beekeeping in 2005. She came to one of our open days and immediately showed a talent for handling bees. She took advantage of one of our "beginners packages" and ended up with a good colony of bees, a new hive, a summers tuition, and 28lb of honey, all in her first year! Mandy is a part time firefighter.

Joseph Ready at the age of 9 turned up at an open evening in 2004 with his father, and went home with a swarm of bees! He passed the BBKA Basic exam in August 2006.
He set up an observation hive in his school science lab for the summer of 2006. Joseph's parents are both involved with bees and make the most of their hive products, making soap, polish, cosmetics, fudge, and a regular supply of cakes that get demolished at bee meetings.
